Ministries

Heads, Hearts, and Hands

“For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Jesus

First Methodist Church, Coleman seeks to live into Jesus’ purpose of service. We believe ministry involves our heads, hearts, and hands and we prioritize ways of doing all three types of ministries. Our heads are instructed in the Scriptures, our hearts are moved to compassion for others, and our hands put our faith into practice. We invite you to partner with us as we use our heads, hearts, and hands to serve our community.

Community Outreaches

  • Meals on Wheels – volunteers in the church deliver meals to senior adults in the community

  • Coleman County Together – stresses community and church partnerships to provide school supplies for every school district in the county, physicals, eye screening, and shoes to needy children.

  • Coleman Senior Center

  • Toys for Kids – is a partnership within the community to provide Christmas gifts to needy children. First Methodist and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church work together to support this ministry.

Worship and Media

  • FMC Coleman launched a television ministry back in the 1970s. Since then, we have been proactive about streaming our services, and increasing our digital footprint.

Ministry Menu

First Methodist offers so many opportunities for newcomers, friends of FMC and members to serve in ministry. Simply download the Ministry Menu, select which areas you want to get involved in or want to learn more about, and email it to PastorGOberg@gmail.com.

Music Ministry

Our Music Ministry incorporates people of musical and vocal abilities based on their schedules. Whether a person wants to play an instrument a couple times per year, or sing every month during worship, we are glad to put their gifts to use
