Rev. Greg Oberg
Pastor
Greg Oberg grew up as a NASA brat in Dickinson, TX. He went to Texas A&M University and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. After graduating from A&M, the Obergs went to Wilmore, KY for Greg to attend Asbury Theological Seminary for three years. Since 2004, Greg has served in a variety of ministry settings: suburban churches, a rural church as pastor and youth director, 11 years in campus ministry, and a year as the inaugural pastor of a church break-off in Louisiana. Greg came to Coleman in June of 2024 to serve as the 57th pastor of First Methodist of Coleman. When not serving in ministry, Greg can be found running 5Ks. Greg also loves going on cruises with his family. Greg and his wife Georgia met at the Texas A&M Wesley Foundation, and have been married since 1999. They have three kids: Wesley, Lincoln, and Lexi. Wesley graduated from A&M and now teaches English in Japan. Lincoln is at Sam Houston State.

Paulette Connelly
The Church Office
Born and raised in Coleman. Graduated from Coleman High School. Graduated from Abilene Christian College (now University) bachelor’s degree in education. I taught 4th grade at Coleman Elementary for 41 years. After retiring in 2015 I came to work as the Administrative Assistant at First Methodist Church. My husband, Tommy (deceased) and I have two sons, three grandsons, and as of now two great-granddaughters, who I love spending time with.
I am a Baptist with a smidgen of Episcopalian experience, lots of bible classes from Church of Christ professors, and now I am experiencing Methodist traditions.
My hobbies are reading and working on sudoku puzzles.

Mary Knacke
Bookkeeper
My name is Mary Knacke (pronounced ka-KNOCK-ee).
I have served as Bookkeeper at Coleman First Methodist Church for the past 14 months.
Prior to coming to Coleman, I held the Administrative Assistant position at Central UMC in Brownwood for over 17 years until their doors unfortunately closed. I was born and raised in Goldthwaite and attended Howard Payne University. My husband, David, and I have been married for 26 years and are empty nesters unless you count our two house kitties that make our house a home. We are members at Salt Creek Baptist Church.
I am an avid reader and I love to sew and quilt.

Jenny Johnson
Custadion
I have lived in Coleman for about 13 years. While here I worked at the Coleman Veterinary Clinic as the receptionist and a tech. Then I moved over to work at the Coleman County Electric Coop. I have been at the coop now for 3 years. I was then blessed to be able to clean for the church as an added side job as I am a divorced single mom of 2. Bridgette Faries is my oldest. She is 14. Maximus Malaer, who also loves to help me clean sometimes, is 8. Between them and work I'm pretty busy! But when I do find some downtime I love to garden and plant flowers. I also like to try to make dishes that I see on facebook. I love being with my family and friends, and getting into a good Netflix series. I am a Christain and love the Lord with all my heart! I definitely wouldn't have made it through storms I've had without him! I'm so happy to be able to be a part of the First Methodist Church staff where everyone is so welcoming.
